Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police are awaiting consent from the family of Japanese man to conduct an autopsy after his body was discovered in an apartment in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Superintendent Muhammad Firdaus, the Central Jakarta Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, confirmed on Wednesday (15/1/2025) that the police are coordinating with the Japanese Embassy to obtain approval for the autopsy.
“There are no external injuries on the victim’s body, but we need an autopsy to confirm the cause of death,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The body of the Japanese man, identified as SF (55), was found on 10 January 2025 when his driver, unable to reach him, contacted his employer. A check revealed the body in the bathtub.
While the cause of death remains undetermined, authorities are waiting for the family’s response to proceed with the autopsy.
