Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) of National Police detained three terrorist suspects in two different cities of Central Kalimantan: East Kotawaringin (2 people) and Palangka Raya (one person). Chief of PR Agency of Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Kismanto Eko Saputro, said that they are initialled A, MSL, and RTF Zay. "The three terrorist suspects are suspiciously involved in the plan of conducting amaliyah (terror) actions by the end of 2021 in this province", the Chief of PR Agency of Central Kalimantan Regional Police said on Wednesday (22/12/21). According to the Middle Officer of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, the arrest was conducted in room 323 of Hawai hotel at Bubut street, Palangka Raya city. The other two were arrested at Istana Jelawat, East Kotawaringin regency. Densus 88 successfully seized evidence of the three suspected terrorists affiliated with the Islamic States and pledged alliance to Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi. Densus 88 seized firearms, sharp weapons, and clothing used for military training for amaliyah actions preparations. "There were homemade firearms and sharp weapons. We also found clothing used for the military training for amaliyah action preparation. Furthermore, we found books on ideological understandings and few other evidence related to terrorism offences", Police Grand Commissioner Kismanto Eko Saputro concluded.
