inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Head of Rabithah al-Ma'ahid al-Islamiyyah of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), KH Rakhmad Zailani, reported Faisal Assegaf to Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police. The Police are investigating the said case numbered LP/B/0668/XI/2021/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated November 2, 2021. "The case is being processed by Cyber Directorate of Criminal Investigation Agency. We have interrogated 13 witnesses", Chief of General Information Agency of PR Agency of National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, said at National Police Headquarter on Wednesday (22/12/2021). In this case, seven are the main witnesses and six are expert witnesses. This report was made due to the report's speech at the "Faizal Assegaf Official" YouTube channel, which was deemed to deface NU. The statement was claimed to hurt NU members because of the accusation of NU being maintaining a cult of personality towards KH Hasyim Asy'ari and claimed NU becomes the place of worldly interests. "We are coordinating on report follow-ups on the violation conducted by Mr Faisal Assegaf on Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE) Law, in the form of spreading hoax and hate based on ethnic, religion, race, and groups, and many things that violate articles at the ITE Law. This clearly defaced NU organisation", the reporter said at the Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police on Monday (20/12). He handed over evidence of video and Faizal's statement transcripts and hoped that Faizal could take responsibility for his actions. "I hope Criminal Investigation Agency could react soon because this video has upset the NU family. Many people in the regions are furious with FA because FA is still commenting about NU, and this action has to be stopped", Rakhmad said. (my/bq/hy)
