Crowd Free Night, Solution to Prevent Roving Takbir during Eid Night

inp.polri.go.id -  Jakarta. Police Inspector General Muhammad Fadlil Imran stated to implement a crowd-free night in Jakarta at Eid night –known as Malam takbiran in Bahasa Indonesia. It is part of the effort to prevent the crowd during the pandemic COVID-19. Crowd free night will be implemented at 10:00 pm Indonesian Western Time (GMT +7) Police Inspector General Fadlil Imran mentioned that officers would conduct monitoring or filtration started at 06:00-10:00 pm against the number of vehicles driving the crowd. “We will implement a crowd-free concept. No more than five people allowed to gather. They need to explain their gathering,” said the two-star General at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (10 May 2021). Chief of Greater Metropolitan Jakarta Regional Police mentioned that the filtration is the officer’s effort of officers to filter the number of vehicles that had no explicit purposes or potential to raise the crowd as Roving Takbir. He emphasized that the police still allow society for shopping by referring to Jakarta Governor Instruction Number 5 the Year 2021. The shopping centre will be opened during the Eid holiday, 12-16 May 2021, with 30% visitors of the maximum capacity. “People is still allowed to visit malls. They still can carry out their activities, but the activities that potentially raise crowd, we will filter,” as mentioned by the graduate of 1991 Indonesian Police Academy. For the information, the Governor of Jakarta has issued Governor Instruction for the banned of Roving Takbir. The two-star General suggest people do Takbir at home virtually as the Mosque capacity is only limited to 10%
