inp.polri.go.id - Bintang Mountains. Personnel from the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force secured the inauguration of the Indonesian Gospel Church in Kiwirok District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, on Friday (5/15/2026).
The security operation was led by the Kiwirok Post Commander, First Police Inspector Enabel Julian K and involved 14 personnel from the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation. The presence of officers aimed to ensure that the entire church session proceeded safely, orderly, and solemnly.
Since the morning, personnel had been on standby around the location to provide a sense of security to the community attending the religious event. In addition to providing security, personnel also established humane communication with religious leaders and the local community, as part of the persuasive approach they continue to prioritize in carrying out their duties in Papua.
The event proceeded safely, smoothly, and conducively. The community appeared enthusiastic and felt reassured by the presence of security personnel who helped maintain order throughout the event.
The Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani, stated that securing religious activities is part of the police's commitment to ensuring the public's freedom to practice their religion safely and peacefully.
"The presence of personnel at religious activities is not only to maintain security, but also as a form of service to the community so they can worship peacefully and joyfully. We continue to prioritize a humanistic approach and respect for the religious and cultural values of the Papuan people," said Faizal.
He also emphasized that security stability in Papua must be built through cooperation, tolerance, and a spirit of brotherhood among all elements of society.
