inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force claims the situation in Alama District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua has returned to normal following the murder of New Zealander pilot, Glen Malcolm Conning (50) by the Armed Criminal Group last Monday.

“It’s all good. The situation here has returned to normal, people are doing their daily activities,” said Damai Cartenz Chief Ops, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani when confirmed by the media.

The total 35 families in District Alama have returned to their daily activities, as was before the bloody incident involving the foreign pilot. However, there are no flights scheduled towards the district.

“Since the incident, yes (there are no helicopter flights to the district). Previously, Alama can only be accessed through helicopter because regular flights are not available,” said the Chief Ops.

According to him, regular flights have been non-existent for almost two years, and since the death of pilot Glen Malcolm, there are no helicopters who want to fly to Alama District.
