Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. The Damai Cartenz Task Force conducted a crime scene investigation following an attack on teachers and healthcare workers, along with the burning of public facilities in Anggruk District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains by the Free Papua Movement (OPM).

Damai Cartenz Task Force Chief Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani said Monday (24/3/2025) that investigations focused on three main locations: the SD Advent Anggruk  elementary school teachers’ housing complex, Efata Hospital, and a vandalized school building.

The attack, which occurred over 21 and 22 March 2025, involved 15 armed perpetrators who assaulted teachers, burned two staff houses, vandalized seven classrooms, and killed a teacher, identified as Rosalia Rerek Sogen.

Police recovered glass shards, burned machetes, and building debris as evidence.

Damai Cartenz Task Force Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo urged the community to remain calm and report any relevant information.  He added that the police continue intense security patrols in Anggruk to prevent further disturbances.
