Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Head Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said on Monday (24/3/2025) that the work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants and state-owned enterprise employees has accelerated the early increase in homecoming traffic.

He said that traffic volume surged from 21 March 2025, or 10 days prior to Eid Al-Fitr , particularly on the Trans-Java and Trans-Sumatra routes. Chief Agus noted that an earlier traffic surge helps ease congestion during the expected peak on 18 and 29 March 2025.

“The government’s WFA policy is highly beneficial. We observed a significant rise in traffic as early as H-10,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

According to state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga, 158,000 vehicles traveled toward Trans-Java on H-10, a 37.5% increase from last year. Traffic via Bakauheni Port to Sumatra also rose 15.7% 10 days prior to Eid and 82% 9 days prior to Eid.

For Operasi Ketupat 2025, the Traffic Corps banned three-axle trucks and prepared one-way and contra-flow schemes to prevent congestion. The operation runs from 23 March to 8 April 2025.
