Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  The Damai Cartenz Task Force is investigating two separate attacks on civilians in Dekai, Yahukimo District, Papua Mountains, which left one person dead and another seriously injured.

“Teams have been deployed to fully investigate the case and ensure the perpetrators are arrested and brought to justice,” said Damai Cartenz Task Force Commander Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani on Wednesday (6/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The first victim, identified as Lea, suffered severe knife wounds in the Pasar Baru area on Tuesday night and remains hospitalized. The second incident occurred Wednesday, when laborer Yohanes Entamoi, 39, was found dead with multiple sharp-force injuries in Kali Merah.

Witnesses told police two unidentified assailants attacked while the victim was working at a kiosk site. One suspect allegedly threatened a witness with an axe before fleeing. Authorities have secured several items of evidence from the scene.
