Inp.polri.go.id - Nabire. The Nabire Sub-regional Police and the Damai Cartenz Task Force conducted joint night patrols on Thursday (28/5/2026) to maintain public safety, targeting areas prone to crime, including motorcycle robberies and illegal possession of weapons.
During inspections of vehicles, officers seized a sharp weapon, which was seized for further investigation.
“Routine patrols and raids are preventive measures to reduce crime and ensure community safety,” said Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force.
Damai Cartenz Task Force Deputy Gead Senior Superintendent Adarma Sinaga emphasized the importance of security presence in building public trust.
“Joint patrols not only prevent crime but also reassure communities that police are actively protecting them,” he said.
The operation, which lasted from 9 pm to 10 pm local time, ended with conditions reported safe and orderly. Authorities noted that such patrols are part of ongoing efforts to limit the movement of armed groups and safeguard daily activities in Central Papua.
