Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force has seized two stolen police-issued AK-47 rifles and arrested man armed criminal group (KKB) member in Papua.

"We recovered two of the four rifles stolen by ex-Yalimo Police officer Askel Mabel," said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz Operations 2025  on Monday (3/2/2025).

The Task Force also confiscated two magazines with 46 rounds, a black OPPO A18 phone, and a document linked to the KKB.

The arrested suspect, Okoni Siep alias Nikson Matuan, is accused of involvement in a November 5, 2024, shooting on the Trans Wamena–Jayapura road, which left one victim dead and another injured.

"This is part of our ongoing effort to dismantle armed groups threatening Papua’s security," Chief Faizal said.
