Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. The Damai Cartenz Task Force and the Indonesian Military (TNI) jointly conducted a sweep for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Alama District, Mimika, Central Papua, following the kidnapping and murder of New Zealand pilot Glen Malcolm Conning on Monday.
Senior Superintendent Bayu Suseno, the task force spokesperson, said on Wednesday (7/8/2024) that the operation involves collaboration with the Joint Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) III and Timika Air Base, with the sweep expected to last at least two weeks.
On Tuesday, the joint forces have evacuated the body of Glen Malcolm Conning and 13 survivors, including eight healthcare workers, two teachers, and three children, from Alama district.
The survivors, who were with Conning, will testify and assist in the investigation of the KKB’s attacks.
