Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. A massive landslide and flash flood struck Cisarua, West Bandung, early Saturday (24/1/2025), leaving at least seven people dead and hundreds missing. The disaster occurred at approximately 3 am, following a thunderous roar as mud and debris swept through Pasirlangu Village, burying dozens of homes.

Joint rescue teams, led by the Indonesian National Police (INP), Indonesian Military (TNI), and the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) in West Java, are currently navigating thick mud and unstable terrain to locate survivors.

"Witnesses reported a powerful roar before the landslide moved from Pasirkuning toward Pasir Kuda, accompanied by a flash flood," said Cisarua Police Office Chief Assistent Senir Inspector A.Y. Yogaswara, as quoted by antaranews.com.

As of midday Saturday, authorities confirmed seven fatalities, while hundreds remains unaccounted for. Rescue operations face severe challenges due to heavy rain and the risk of secondary landslides.

The INP have cordoned off the disaster zone, urging residents to evacuate as geologists assess soil stability. Emergency shelters and medical posts have been established to support displaced families.
