Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team has recovered all 10 victims of the ATR 42-500 aircraft crash in the Bulusaraung Mountains, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi, ending a seven-day operation on Friday.
The final victim was found at 9:16 a.m. local time in a steep ravine near a mountain stream.
The evacuation was extremely challenging due to the terrain and weather, but the joint team remained focused on the humanitarian mission until all victims were found, according to the presidential media team statement quoted by antaranews.com on Saturday (24/1/2026).
The search involved Indonesian National Police (INP), the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and local responders, using rope extraction and helicopter support to access remote cliffs.
Authorities said the mountainous terrain, unstable rocks, and rapidly changing weather significantly slowed operations. With all victims evacuated, the SAR mission has been officially concluded.
