Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INNP) Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested 12 terrorism suspects during operations in West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau, and North Maluku, starting Friday.
"The suspects are believed to be connected to networks affiliated with Daulah Islamiyah ideologies as well as other terrorism networks," said Densus 88 spokesperson Senior Superintendent Mayndra Eka Wardhana in Jakarta on Sunday (4/10/2026).
Their roles included network consolidation, direct and social media recruitment, propaganda distribution, and militant training, including shooting and physical exercises. Investigators revealed the suspects connected across regions primarily through virtual meetings for indoctrination and coordination.
Densus 88 is currently conducting searches, evidence seizures, and further interrogations to investigate additional network ties and prevent potential violent acts.
