Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s counterterrorism unit, Densus 88, has arrested an 18-year-old suspect in Gowa, South Sulawesi, for allegedly operating a digital network linked to ISIS and promoting acts of terror.

Densus 88’s information and documentation official Superintendent Mayndra Eka Wardhana said on Sunday (25/5/2025) that suspect MAS was active in managing a WhatsApp group named Daulah Islamiah, created in December 2024, where he distributed ISIS propaganda including images, videos, voice notes, and extremist writings.

Investigations revealed the group also discussed justifications for suicide bombing under extremist interpretations.

Suspect MAS was identified as the main administrator of the channel and reportedly encouraged attacks on places of worship, as reported by antaranews.com.

Authorities confiscated a motorcycle and a cellphone believed to be used for terror-related communications. Suspect MAS is currently under interrogation.
