Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s counterterrorism unit Densus 88 said a school stabbing in Moscow, Russia, on 16 December 2025, was allegedly inspired by a bombing incident at SMAN 72 in North Jakarta, highlighting the cross-border spread of violent extremist narratives.
“We see a connection between the incident in Moscow and what happened in Jakarta,” Densus 88 spokesperson Senior Superintendent Mayndra Eka Wardhana said on Wednesday (7/1/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The suspect, a 15-year-old identified as Timofey, attacked a school in the Moscow region with a knife, killing a student and injuring a security guard, Russian authorities confirmed.
Densus 88 said the link emerged after investigators found the words “2025, Jakarta Bombing” written on the knife handle and shared in an online extremist true-crime community.
