inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Draft Law on the Third Amendment to Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police (INP Bill) was passed into law during a plenary session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).

The ratification took place after political party factions expressed their approval during the 21st Plenary Session of the DPR RI for the 5th Session of the 2025–2026 Session Year in Senayan.

"We will ask once again, can the INP Bill be approved for enactment into law?" quote Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad on Tuesday (6/9/2026).

The legislators then responded unanimously, indicating their approval of the ratification.

In his report, Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Habiburokhman, stated that the drafting of the INP Bill had implemented the principle of meaningful participation. He mentioned that Commission III held 12 public hearings to gather public input.

In addition, they also visited universities in 12 provinces, inviting experts from legal sciences and public health, community groups, and student groups to hear their opinions.

The INP Bill Working Committee and the government completed discussions on 112 problem inventory lists (DIMs), consisting of 32 fixed DIMs, 36 editorial DIMs, 12 substantive DIMs, 24 deleted DIMs, and eight new substantive DIMs.
