inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra emphasized that no position is immune from the law in public service.
He emphasized that the government has a firm stance against any form of irregularities in public service.
"No position can protect against irregularities in public service, no position can be used as a shield. In a state based on the rule of law, power is subject to the law," Coordinating Minister Yusril stated on Tuesday (6/9/2026).
Therefore, regarding the ongoing legal process regarding alleged irregularities in immigration services, the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, and Corrections urged all levels of government to respect the authority of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and uphold the principle of the presumption of innocence.
He also urged all state officials to maintain integrity and professionalism, and ensure that public services are transparent, fair, and accountable.
Yusril emphasized that irregularities in public service are not merely administrative matters but can also damage public trust in the state.
The practice of trading procedures, he argued, will make the public feel like justice can be bought and ultimately harm employees who work honestly.
He also highlighted the importance of transparency in public services, starting with clarity on costs, service times, and the legal basis used in each service process.
"If there is a fee, state the official fee. If there is a service time, state the time. Don't make the public depend on insiders to obtain their rights," said Coordinating Minister Yusril.
He asked work unit leaders, regional office heads, and heads of technical implementation units (UPT) to be more sensitive to various signs of irregularities in their respective work environments, including unusual service patterns, repeated public complaints, and inappropriate employee lifestyles.
