Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, has asked the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police and the Bogor Sub-regional Police to thoroughly investigate alleged land mafia practices in the 2019 Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program in Bogor Regency.

"I ask the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police and the Bogor Sub-regional Police to thoroughly uncover this land mafia practice in Bogor. Ensure that all perpetrators are subject to the harshest possible penalties," Sahroni said in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday (9/10/2026).

Sahroni stated that land mafia practices must be eradicated because they can harm the public and disrupt legal certainty regarding land ownership in the long term.

"In Bogor, land mafia practices are everywhere. As this finding shows, the 2019 PTSL was seven years ago. It's unimaginable how widespread the arbitrariness is; it's possible that much of the community's land data has been duplicated," he said.

According to him, the alleged problems in the PTSL program have the potential to become legal problems for the community if not immediately investigated and resolved.

"This is a ticking time bomb for the future legal certainty of land rights for the people of Bogor. Therefore, this parasitic practice must be eradicated as soon as possible," he said.

Sahroni also asked investigators to investigate the possible involvement of individuals from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) if evidence is found during the investigation.

"This is no small crime. Land mafia can undermine legal certainty and cause people to only realize they are victims years later," Sahroni emphasized.

He urged authorities not only to prosecute perpetrators on the ground, but also to uncover those who orchestrated and profited from the alleged practice.
