Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A car driver was killed after a large tree fell and crushed five cars on Jalan Dharmawangsa Raya in South Jakarta, during a heavy rainstorm on Thursday afternoon (30/10/2025).
"One person died upon arrival at the hospital," said Mohamad Yohan, the Head of Data and Information at the Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The incident occurred around 3 pm local time after heavy rain and strong winds swept through the area. Another person was injured and taken to a nearby RSPP hospital.
The tragedy came just days after a similar fatal incident in Pondok Indah, also in South Jakarta, where a car driver died when a tree collapsed onto his vehicle during bad weather.
Emergency crews have cleared the wreckage and removed debris, while BPBD Jakarta was assessing property damage and warns residents to stay cautious as the rainy season intensifies. Victims’ identities have not yet been released.
