inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, along with the Jakarta Regional Metro Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Directorate, have uncovered the alleged kidnapping of a woman in Ancol, North Jakarta. This disclosure also uncovered the perpetrator's drug abuse, with the discovery of hundreds of vape cartridges containing Etomidate, suspected of being ready for distribution.

The incident began on Saturday (4/25/2026) at around 3:00 a.m., when the police received a report from the public regarding an alleged kidnapping at a hotel in Ancol.

Jakarta Regional Metro Police Public Relations Chief Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto stated that, following up on the report, officers quickly moved to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a woman suspected of being the kidnapping victim and a Chinese citizen with the initials CH (50), suspected of being the perpetrator.

"Evidence suspected of being narcotics in liquid and powder form was also found at the scene," he explained on Monday (4/27/2026).

The raid continued on Saturday (4/25/2026) at around 5:00 a.m., when the joint team conducted a follow-up operation at the same location. During the search, investigators discovered 321 vape cartridges containing Etomidate of various brands, suspected of being ready for distribution.

Budi explained that in addition to the hundreds of ready-to-distribute cartridges, several other pieces of evidence were also seized, including Etomidate liquid in bottles, simple production equipment, and flavoring ingredients, which further strengthen the suspicion of drug manufacturing activity.

"This raid is not only related to the alleged kidnapping, but also points to the abuse and distribution of a new type of narcotic in the form of vape cartridges containing Etomidate. From the first crime scene, we secured 321 ready-to-distribute cartridges, along with other materials and supporting equipment," said Budi.

In handling this case, investigators also demonstrated a swift response by evacuating the victim from the scene and ensuring her safety. The victim has received a medical examination and assistance, including psychological rehabilitation to recover from the incident.

Budi further emphasized that the police are continuing to investigate the wider network, including the possible involvement of a transnational drug syndicate involving foreign nationals.

"We are still investigating and developing this larger network. We cannot rule out the possibility that this is part of an organized drug syndicate, including the involvement of other perpetrators," he said.
