Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The East Java Regional Police’s Mobile Brigade (Brimob) has strengthened humanitarian operations in Lumajang after Mount Semeru’s eruption triggered a seven-kilometer pyroclastic flow and forced mass evacuations.
The volcano remains at Alert Level IV, the highest level, with authorities mobilizing aid to vulnerable evacuees.
“Residents are exhausted, and Brimob’s assistance in lifting household items, cleaning homes, and moving essentials to shelters has become direct, truly felt help,” East Java Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Suryo Sudarmadi said on Saturday (22/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He confirmed deployment of one company-level unit led by Brimob’s batalyon B commander Senior Inspector Toni Agus Salim to Pronojiwo District before dawn.
Since 4.30 am local time, Brimob has operated a field kitchen serving hundreds of free meals for displaced residents and emergency workers, followed by house-cleaning efforts and psychosocial support for children at SDN 04 elementary school
Pronojiwo. A presidential delegation inspected logistics and relief services at the Supit Urang field kitchen later in the morning. Brimob planned to continue supporting humanitarian relief until conditions stabilize.
