Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed no Indonesian citizens were injured or killed in a magnitude-5.7 earthquake that struck Bangladesh on Fridayr, causing fatalities and mass injuries.
“As of now, all Indonesian nationals in Bangladesh are safe and in good condition,” the ministry said in a statement on Saturday (22/11/2025), adding that the Indonesian in Dhaka “suffered no structural damage.”
The embassy, however, reported one Indonesian national’s residence sustained minor cracks, according to antaranews.com.
The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded in Ghorashal, Narsingdi District, approximately 25 kilometers from Dhaka, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The Bangladesh government reported at least 10 deaths and more than 350 injuries, with casualties concentrated in Narsingdi and the capital city. Local authorities also recorded two minor aftershocks on Saturday without additional casualties.
The Indonesian Embassy continues to monitor conditions and urged Indonesians to contact its emergency line at +880-1614-44452 should assistance be needed.
