Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya.  The East Java Regional Police  has implemented a child-friendly security approach during the U-17 World Cup 2023 at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya. Speaking at a press conference at the U-17 World Cup Media Centre in Surabaya on Wednesday (15/11/2023), East Java Police Head of Operational Bureau Senior Superintendent Puji Santosa said the approach was adopted due to the significant presence of child spectators during the tournament. "In terms of security, we are using both open and closed methods with a child-friendly approach. We aim to conceal anything with a military nuance to create a welcoming environment," he said as quoted by antaranews.com as saying Chief Puji went on to explain that the distribution of security points will be different from domestic competitions such as Liga 1 and Liga 2. "Unlike our usual display at the front, as in Liga 1 and Liga 2, we are positioning ourselves in zones 2, 3 and 4 for this competition, ensuring a strategic and child-friendly security arrangement,"  he added.
