East Java Regional Police Bust 9 Kg Meth Smuggling From Malaysia

inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The East Java Regional Police uncovered the circulation of crystal methamphetamine from a Malaysian network by confiscating evidence of 9,463.342 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 5,814 ecstasy pills, and arrested four suspected couriers of the network.

The Director of Drug Investigation of the East Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Robert Da Costa said that the suspects each have the initials MAY (37), a resident of Tulangan District, Sidoarjo Regency; KF (36), a resident of Panceng District, Gresik Regency; HAR (56), a resident of Krembangan District, Surabaya City; and MH (28), a resident of Tumpang District, Malang Regency.

"The four suspects have different roles. MAY and KF act as intermediaries for the sale and purchase of crystal methamphetamine, HAR as the recipient of goods from the Surabaya-Madura network, while MH is the dealer in the network," he said in Surabaya, quoted by Antaranews, Wednesday (5/21/2025.

Robert explained that the crystal methamphetamine was sent from Malaysia to Surabaya by hiding it in shock breaker components via a delivery service.

The arrests were carried out separately from February to May 2025. Suspect MAY was arrested in a boarding room in Modong Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo on Monday (2/10/2025) at around 07.45 WIB.

KF was arrested at a coffee shop in Panceng District, Gresik, on Saturday (3/5/2025) at around 13.30 WIB.

Suspect HAR was arrested in a boarding room on Jalan Sawah Pulo, Ujung Village, Semampir District, Surabaya on Friday (5/9/2025) at 22.00 WIB, while MH was arrested in Slamet Village, Tumpang District, Malang on Thursday (5/8/2025) at 21.00 WIB.

"This disclosure is the result of cooperation with Juanda Customs and Excise, Surabaya," added Robert.

He emphasized that the disclosure of this network is part of the East Java Regional Police's commitment to eradicating the illicit trafficking of narcotics in the East Java region.
