inp.polri.go.id - Riau. The Riau Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryawan, expressed his appreciation to the entire Riau Province community for their active role in maintaining security and order during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah exodus and return journey. This was conveyed on Sunday (March 29, 2026).
In his statement, Herry Heryawan assessed that the security during this year's Eid homecoming traffic flow proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly. He attributed this achievement to public discipline and strong collaboration between the Indonesian National Military (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (INP), local governments, and all stakeholders.
"We are grateful that the situation during the Eid homecoming and return journey was well maintained. This is the result of cooperation from all parties," he said.
He also revealed a significant decrease in traffic accidents during this year's Eid homecoming traffic flow. Based on collected data, the number of accidents decreased by approximately 60 percent compared to the previous year.
"This decline is an indicator of increased public awareness of traffic laws and demonstrates the effectiveness of the security measures implemented," he explained.
Furthermore, Herry Heryawan expressed his appreciation to all personnel on duty in the field. He considered their dedication and hard work in providing services to the public during the Eid al-Fitr holiday to be commendable.
"We thank all personnel who have carried out their duties responsibly and provided the best service to the public," he said.
He further emphasized that this success demonstrates police's commitment to carrying out the leadership's directive to always be present to provide a sense of security to the public.
"On behalf of the Riau Regional Police, we express our gratitude to all the people of Riau. We hope this safe and conducive situation can be maintained through the synergy of all parties," he concluded.
