Emergency PPKM Policy, Central Java Regional Police: Road Blocking is Not for Sport Facility

Inp.polri.go.id-  Semarang. The blocking of the number of main roads regarding the implementation of Emergency PPKM (Community Restriction Activity) in many places has been misused by society. Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Ahmad Luthfi through Head of Public Affairs of Central Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner M.Iqbal Alqudusy asked people not to get the benefit from this road blocking as the place for hanging out or sport.  “The objective of this road blocking is to limit and reduce community mobility. So don’t get the benefit of it by making it for sports activity that creates crowds,” Head of Public Affairs of Central Java Regional Police said, Wednesday (07/21/21). In Central Java, a number of roads blocked due to the implementation of Emergency PPKM is a number of Central Java. However, they are often used by a community to exercise such as for walking or cycling. One of them is Slamet Riyadi street in Solo. On Sunday (07/18/21) morning, there were a number of people gathered on Slamet Riyadi Street during the implementation of Emergency PPKM as if it was like a car-free day.  Though during Emergency PPKM, Solo City Government has abolished the car-free day agenda. Solo City Government also blocks a number of streets besides Slamet Riyati to minimalize people crowd.  “Efforts to dispel [the crowd] have also been carried out Solo City Resort Police. Likewise with other areas," Head of Public Affairs of Central Java Regional Police said. Furthermore, the Head of Public Affairs of Central Java Regional Police said during the emergency PPKM, Semarang City still took the first position active cases in Central Java. Up to Monday (07/19/21), the total Covid-19 in Central Java reached 325,085 people. In detail, active cases reached 34,143 people, recovered cases 271,884 people, and death cases reached 19,778 people. Meanwhile, the area with the highest exposure case is Semarang City with 27,557 people. Then, Kudus Regency with 27,557 people, and Banyumas Regency with 15,293 people. "Meanwhile, the area with the lowest percentage of Covid-19 exposure is  Tegal City 2,446 people. Then Salatiga City 2,825 people, and Magelang City 3,203 people," Head of Public Affairs  of Central Java Regional Police explained.
