Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya has urged negotiators to secure the best position for Indonesia at the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), particularly concerning funding. 

She emphasized the importance of strategic negotiation to enhance Indonesia's standing, especially given the conference's theme under Azerbaijan's presidency: "In Solidarity for a Green World", as reported by antaranews.com on Saturday (3/8/2024)..

Minister Siti outlined that COP29's focus is on investments necessary to safeguard the future. She stressed the need for transparency and commitment to ambitious national plans, with funding playing a crucial role in translating ambition into action.

Minister Siti urged negotiators to explore opportunities to position Indonesia advantageously and align with national interests. She highlighted Indonesia's significant efforts and international recognition as a leader in climate change mitigation.

COP29 will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11-22 November 2024, where Siti hopes Indonesia will effectively negotiate to ensure global commitment to climate action.
