Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral Facebook post claiming that hundreds of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) will be shut down by the end of 2026 to fund the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program is false.

Fact-checking platform turnbackhoax.id confirmed that no credible media outlets or official reports support the claim. Search queries regarding the redirection of funds from BUMN closures to the MBG program lead to news coverage explaining President Prabowo Subianto's order to close 700 to 800 loss-making BUMN entities.

The actual objective of shutting down unproductive BUMN is to curb state budget waste, specifically eliminating salaries and facilities for non-productive board members, to enhance efficiency and strengthen corporate governance.
