inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, urged all farmers in villages not to hesitate to utilize their yards as farming land.

According to Yandri, utilizing yards or communal land for farming can be a solution to ensuring food availability, especially green vegetables, and can even be used as food for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

"So, please plant rice, tubers, and vegetables, because they will be needed for the MBG program. You will reap significant profits," said the Minister on Tuesday (8/12/2025).

He stated that the involvement of farmers, Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), and MSMEs in the MBG program supply chain will encourage local economic growth and community welfare to the greatest extent possible.

Previously, Dicky Yosepial, Head of the Human Resources Training Center encouraged villagers to start utilizing their yards as a solution to achieving household food security.

He stated that yards, which have long been considered small and lacking in potential, actually hold significant potential if managed in an integrated manner.

Yandri further explained that villagers can implement the concept of integrated farming to optimize the use of their yards.

He explained that integrated farming is a cultivation system that combines crops, livestock, and fisheries within a single small plot of land.
