Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The United States of America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) praised the Central Java Regional Police Directorate of Cyber Crime for uncovering a transnational "pig butchering" online scam targeting international victims.
Acting FBI Legat Attaché for Indonesia and Timor-Leste Son Nguyen presented certificates of appreciation to Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Roy Hardi Siahaan during an audience at the regional police headquarters on Wednesday (14/10/2026).
"International cooperation is vital for tracing digital footprints, identifying criminal networks, and supporting law enforcement against increasingly complex cybercrimes that transcend national borders," Chief Roy said.
Director of Cyber Crime Senior Superintendent Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan highlighted that handling cross-border cybercrime requires close coordination and information sharing. As part of ongoing collaboration, the FBI invited four Cyber Crime Directorate officers to attend a specialized cyber training program in Bali in November 2026.
