Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   The Fire and Rescue Department (Gulkarmat) rescued four victims of a collapsed building on Ayub Street in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on early Saturday morning (16/3/2024). South Jakarta Gulkarmat Duty Officer Agus Wijaya reported that a wall measuring six square meters in area and three meters in height collapsed, trapping four victims, including a family. Among the injured were Suyoto, with an ankle injury, and his daughter Melissa (20), who suffered from bleeding in her right ear. Both were rushed to Jati Padang Regional Hospital for medical treatment, as reported by antaranews.com. Harmini, Suyoto's wife, escaped with no injuries, while their son, Hanif (19), sustained minor scrapes on his right foot. The collapse occurred when a neighboring house's wall collapsed onto Suyoto's home, causing significant damage to their bedroom and trapping the family while they were asleep. Agus said that they received the call at 1.50 am and mobilized to provide assistance. The rescue operation evacuated all four victims by 2.55 am. Gulkarmat, in collaboration with other agencies, conducted the evacuation, estimating the total damage suffered by the victims to be around Rp150 million. "We deployed three personnel to handle the situation," Agus added. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
