inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Banten Regional Police Chief Inspector General Hengki personally inspected the fire site at the Jatiwaringin Final Processing Site (TPA), located in Jatiwaringin, Mauk District, Tangerang Regency.

The inspection was conducted to ensure optimal fire management and the safety of the affected community.

Also present at the event were Tangerang Regent Drs. Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, Tangerang Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah, senior officials of the Banten Regional Police, as well as members of the Indonesian Military (TNI), local government, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Fire Department, the Health Department, and other relevant agencies.

Hengki explained that the fire occurred on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The Jatiwaringin landfill covers an area of approximately 32 hectares, with 15 hectares affected by the fire.

"From monitoring results, 12 hotspots were identified, eight of them have been successfully extinguished, while the rest are still being cooled and handled by officers in the field," said Hengki on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

He explained that the first hotspot appeared at the rear of the landfill area. Although initial extinguishing efforts were made by workers, the hot weather and strong winds caused the fire to quickly spread to other waste piles.

After receiving the report, he said, the police moved quickly to implement an integrated response with all relevant agencies.

"From the beginning of the incident, we immediately coordinated with the local government, BNPB, BPBD, TNI, the Fire Department, the Health Department, and all stakeholders to implement integrated response measures so that the fire could be quickly controlled and its impact minimized," said Hengki.
