Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Denpasar City Sub-regional Police confirmed on Saturday (11/4/2026) that five men arrested for the brutal killing of two victims at Benoa Harbor, South Denpasar, tested positive for narcotics following their arrests.
"Test kits indicate that all five suspects were under the influence of amphetamines during the incident," said Senior Superintendent Leonardo David Simatupang, the Chief of the Denpasar City Police, as cited by antaranews.com.
The victims, identified as Egi Ramadan and Hisam Adnan, were fatally assaulted on Friday morning with stones and wooden beams before being set on fire.
Investigators from the Narcotics Unit are currently tracing the source of the drugs, while criminal investigators determine if the substances exacerbated the suspects' violent behavior. The group, who were reportedly colleagues of the victims, now faces up to ten years in prison under the Indonesian Criminal Code for the aggravated assault that led to the fatalities.
