Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya.  A fatal crash on the Pasuruan-Probolinggo Toll Road in East Java early Monday  (21/10/2024) claimed five lives and left seven others injured.

The accident occurred when an Isuzu minibus, with license plate M 7419 UA, was traveling from Probolinggo to Surabaya. 

The driver, Ifan Orlando (23), was reportedly drowsy at the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into the back of a truck around 12.40 am, according to Highway Patrol Officer Superintendent Imet Chaerudin Tamsil.

The collision severely damaged the front of the minibus, shattering windows and crushing the body. The truck involved continued driving, and its details remain unknown, according to antaranews.com.

Among the victims were the driver, Ifan Orlando, and four passengers, identified as Eli, Muslih, Darmono, and Sutrih. Seven other passengers suffered minor injuries.

Authorities responded to the scene and evacuated all victims and the vehicle.
