Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Flooding in Tangerang Regency, Banten, has expanded across seven districts, affecting around 14,000 households after days of persistent rainfall and overflowing rivers, local authorities said on Saturday (24/1/2026).
The disaster has persisted since 11 January 2026 and resurfaced this week due to ongoing extreme weather.
“Floodwaters currently remain in several districts, with the worst-hit areas recording water levels of up to two meters,” Tangerang Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head Ahmad Taufik said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The flooding impacts Gunung Kaler, Kresek, Pasar Kemis, Solear, Cisoka, Jayanti, and Balaraja districts, with water depths ranging from 60 centimeters to over two meters. Authorities reported that about two percent of affected families have evacuated to temporary shelters, while others remain in submerged homes.
The local administration has deployed emergency personnel, water pumps, and heavy equipment to accelerate drainage and assist residents. Officials warned that continued rainfall could trigger further flooding, urging communities to remain alert.
