Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Heavy flooding in Grobogan Regency in Central Java on Sunday (9/3/2025), disrupted train services along the Semarang-Surabaya route, forcing temporary closures.

PT KAI Semarang spokesperson Franoto Wibowo said that continuous rainfall since Saturday caused severe flooding at KM 32 between Gubug and Karangjati stations.

"Both tracks are submerged under strong water currents," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

As a result, Semarang-Surabaya services have been suspended. The Kedung Sepur train was canceled, while three trains—Blora Jaya, Harina, and Ambarawa Ekspres—were rerouted via Gambringan-Gundih.

PT KAI has deployed emergency teams to restore operations as soon as possible.
