Inp.polri.go.id - Grobogan. Floods struck Grobogan, Central Java, once again on Sunday (9/3/2025), following the collapse of the Tuntang River levee in Baturagung Village, affecting 21 villages.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Grobogan official Masrikan said that some residents from Baturagung evacuated in advance, anticipating the breach after previous incidents.
The breach marked the fourth occurrence in 2025. Unlike previous incidents, this flood did not disrupt traffic along the Grobogan-Semarang road.
BPBD deployed rescue teams to assist evacuations, as water from the breach remains strong despite a declining flow from Gelapan Dam. Water levels are expected to recede within eight hours.
Authorities are reinforcing levees with sandbags and distributing aid to affected residents.
