Food Security as Key Part in Ensuring Bright Future of the State

inp.polri.go.id - Medan. Food Security has become one of the priorities in the national agenda put forward by the Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The Indonesian National Police (INP) as an institution responsible for maintaining the state's stability, also took part in supporting the agenda.

One of the strategic moves from the institution is by planting corn on January 16th, 2025, which aims to push food self-sufficiency throughout the country.

The North Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, through his spokesperson Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi highlights the importance of police contribution in the program.

“Food security is not only a matter of economic issue, but also guaranteeing food availability,” says Hadi on Monday (1/12/2025).

As part of the program, North Sumatra Regional Police have prepared a total land field of 548.87 hectares across the province, with 11.4 hectares managed directly by the Regional Police, 164.98 hectares of land managed by the Sub-regional Police ranks, and 50,90 hectares of intercropping land under the supervision of the Sub-regional Police.

Whisnu says that in supporting the agenda, they were not only involving the Security Development and Public Order Unit, but also locals and farmers. The collaboration demonstrates strong cooperation between state institutions and the people in building the future together.

“This food security program is part of the effort in realizing the state's self-sufficiency ,” says Hadi.
