Based on the Indonesian National Police records, the number of Indonesian inmates detained for drug cases reached 53.1 percent.

General Sigit revealed that even the survey results showed the concerning issue of drug abuse by the younger generation.

"From the survey results, Indonesia is the sixth largest country for drug users," said the Chief of Police when giving a speech at the XII Hikmabudhi Orientation Week in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, on Friday (4/18/2025).

The Chief of Police said that there are at least 1.29 million people in Indonesia who are exposed to and addicted to drugs. Therefore, General Sigit emphasized the importance of guiding and watching over the younger generations to be away from this threat.

"For this, we want to remind you that wherever you are, please remember that drugs are very dangerous for us,” reminds Sigit.

Regarding police handling of the issue, General Sigit ensured that the police will continue its war on drugs. He also invited all parties to take various steps to combat the illicit trafficking of drugs for the sake of the younger generation.
