inp.polri.go.id - Banjarmasin. Following the instruction of the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, the Food Task Force carried out a surprise inspection at Centra Antasari Market on Friday (4/18/2025).

The activity was to monitor the price and availability of food stocks following the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

Led by the South Kalimantan Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Gafur Aditya Siregar, the team checked on commodities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, eggs, chicken, chilies and onions. The inspection was carried out to ensure that there was no price spike that would burden the public after the Eid holiday.

"We want to ensure that food stocks are sufficient and prices are stable according to the highest retail price (HET). If there are business actors who raise prices unreasonably, strict action will be taken," said Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of Trade of Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, Superintendent Amien Rovi.

The results of the inspection showed that most of the prices of basic necessities were still stable, although there was a slight increase in chili commodities.

The public is also urged to report if they find hoarding practices or unreasonable price increases to the police hotline 110 or visit the nearest police station.
