Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said all Indonesian citizens in Venezuela are safe following U.S. military strikes that hit several areas of the South American country on Saturday (3/1/2026)  amid escalating tensions.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Caracas reports that all Indonesian citizens in Venezuela are currently safe,” the ministry said in a statement posted on X, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The ministry said the Indonesian Embassy in Caracas, along with other Indonesian missions in South America, is closely monitoring the security situation and maintaining contact with citizens on the ground. Indonesians in Venezuela have been advised to remain calm, stay alert, and keep regular communication with the embassy.

The attacks were reported early Saturday, with local media and social media videos showing explosions, thick smoke, and air raid sirens in the capital Caracas. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces carried out the strikes and claimed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro had been detained.

The Foreign Ministry said it would continue monitoring developments to ensure the safety of Indonesians in Venezuela.
