Forest and Land Fire Extinguishing Process Went Smoothly, Wildfire in Ogan Ilir Completely Handled

inp.polri.go.id - Ogan Ilir. Ogan Ilir Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Rizka Aprianti, directly monitored the forest and land fire extinguishing process in Muara Baru Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, Saturday (9/26/2026).

Her presence at the scene was to ensure optimal firefighting and to provide support to joint personnel involved in handling the forest and land fires.

The forest and land fires are estimated to have burned approximately 28 hectares of land. The joint team successfully extinguished an area of approximately 11 hectares. The extinguishing process faced challenges due to limited water resources, but this was overcome with the support of various equipment, including water bombing.

In handling the forest and land fires, the Ogan Ilir Sub-regional Police collaborated with the South Sumatra Regional Police's Operation Assigned team, the Ogan Ilir Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Ogan Ilir Regency Fire Department, Manggala Agni, the Indonesian National Military (TNI), PT Tol Palindra, and other relevant agencies.

Several equipment was used to support the firefighting process, including water bombing, water pumps from the Ogan Ilir Regency BPBD, water pumps from the South Sumatra Regional Police, a forest and land fire fighting vehicle from the South Sumatra Regional Police, a tanker truck from the Ogan Ilir Regency BPBD, a Palindra Toll Road tanker, and fire trucks.

The Ogan Ilir Sub-regional Police Chief also directly monitored the situation on the ground and ensured that personnel prioritized safety during the firefighting efforts.

Thanks to the cooperation of the entire joint team, the fire was successfully brought under control. The firefighting operation concluded at around 12:15 p.m. and the fire was completely extinguished.

The Ogan Ilir Sub-regional Police, along with all stakeholders, will continue to boost patrols, monitor forest and land fire-prone areas, and respond quickly to any fire incidents in an effort to prevent the spread of forest and land fires and maintain public safety and security.
