inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Forestry, along with the Ministry of Environment, participated in the 80th Indonesian Independence Day Carnival. Both ministries displayed their decorative vehicles themed "Striving to Overcome the Three Planetary Crises."
The vehicles, displayed in front of President Prabowo Subianto at the National Monument (Monas) intersection, carried a strong message about sustainable forest management. This is key to addressing the challenges of the three planetary crises.
The three planetary crises in question are climate change, pollution, and the loss of biodiversity. The trucks were also ridden by the Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, and the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.
The trucks depicted a forest scene with lush trees symbolizing the lungs of the world. Key Indonesian wildlife and flora were also featured.
These included the Sumatran elephant, Sumatran tiger, Javan rhinoceros, Bornean orangutan, bird of paradise, Komodo dragon, Javan hawk-eagle, and others. Plants like the corpse flower and kempas tree symbolize the preservation of flora and fauna in Indonesia.
"Forests are not just a bulwark against climate change, but also a source of food, a guarantor of clean water, and a provider of renewable energy. Therefore, sustainable forest management is the foundation of national resilience," said the Minister of Forestry, as reported by RRI, Sunday (8/18/2025).
The main message of this float is Optimizing the Management of Biodiversity of Natural Resources. The goal is to support Food, Water, and Energy Security, as well as Forest Conservation for the Prosperity of the Nation.
The Ministry of Forestry's participation in this carnival also reaffirms the government's commitment to the principle of Sustainable Forestry. Furthermore, "Development Must Never Stop, People's Welfare Is Certain."
"Well-maintained forests are not only home to the archipelago's flora and fauna, but also the mainstay of human life. From abundant food sources, clean water supplies that support millions of people, to environmentally friendly renewable energy," he explained.
