inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police uncovered a case of the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit IDR 100,000 notes in the Bogor area, West Java. A suspect identified as MP was arrested in a hotel room in the Kemang area, Bogor Regency, on Monday (3/30/2026).

Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Banking and Economic Affairs Directorate of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Superintendent Robby Syahfery stated that investigators seized evidence in the form of IDR 100,000 notes suspected of being counterfeit, with a value of approximately IDR 620 million.

"Yes, we have seized counterfeit IDR 100,000 notes worth approximately IDR 620 million in a hotel room in the Kemang area, Bogor Regency. So far, one suspect identified as MP has been apprehended," he explained on Tuesday (3/31/2026).
 
He explained that investigators also confiscated several items suspected of being used to produce the counterfeit money. These included a printer, ink, a paper cutter, A4 paper, and other equipment related to the counterfeit money-making process.

Robby emphasized that this investigation is still underway to investigate the possibility of other parties being involved. Investigators are currently investigating the perpetrators' roles and the distribution channels of the counterfeit money.

"We are currently investigating the counterfeit money syndicate, including its planners and distribution network," he said.

He also urged the public to be more careful when receiving cash, especially large denominations. They are asked to be vigilant and immediately report any suspected counterfeit money to the nearest police station or call 110.
