inp.polri.go.id. The 152 personnel of FPU 3 MINUSCA for the United Nations peacekeeping mission for conflict in the Central Africa region conducted last training called Jalan Juang (Road of Struggle) by walking through the coast and forest and its obstacles in Tegal Mas, Lampung, on Thursday (26/8/2021). Chief of FPU 3 MINUSCA Task Force, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Raymond Marcellino Masengi, the Jalan Juang was commenced on 09.00 a.m. until 03.00 a.m. the next day. During the event, the Garuda Bhayangkara Polri team must pass five checkpoints with obstacles and hurdles in each checkpoint, including facing terror and grenade throwing. "This is our peak activities in Jalan Juang that are full of obstacles and challenges we must face by the personnel to earn the highest score. At Checkpoint 1, personnel's shooting ability was tested. Checkpoint 2 is to look for clues to go to the next checkpoint. Checkpoint 3 related to team cooperation and management test and also the accuracy from the FPU 3 MINUSCA personnel. This checkpoint includes facing terror and grenade-throwing. In here, the leader's managerial ability is essential", Raymond said. "In checkpoint 4, they also challenged to defuse a bomb in the middle of a forest that could explode in any minute if they are negligent. With closed eyes, they only depend on instruction from the group commander to lift the mines in the form of a bomb. A bit of miss, they failed (bomb would explode). Therefore, we would punish every error", he continued. At Checkpoint 5, FPU 3 personnel must be able to analyse clues they gathered at the previous checkpoints to be reported to the leaders. This becomes the evaluation of all personnel related to analysing problems that happened in conflict regions. "At this final activity, all personnel are healthy and full of spirit—no one complaining even though has to walk really far through obstacles and hurdle. We have no technical problems. Personnel with different cultural backgrounds, education, and rank must be united and cohesive", Raymond said. "All activities are observed by the leaders. These planned exercises are to increase personnel ability for the peacekeeping mission in Central Africa who would be departed this September", the former Chief of Sanggau Departmental Police said. Raymond added that one centralised command in this peacekeeping mission in the conflict region is essential. Regulations of the United Nations must be recognised by all Garuda Bhayangkara Polri personnel.
