Detecting the Potential of Forest and Land Fire, Jambi Regional Police Targets to Install 30 CCTV

inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Jambi Regional Police are targeting the installation of 30 CCTVs to monitor and prevent forest and land fires. The installation of this tool aims to improve the Application of the Digital Forest and Land Fire Control Analysis System (Digital Smoke) which is used to monitor and detect potential fire smoke in areas prone to forest and land fires. Jambi Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Director, Pol. Grand Commissioner Sigit Dany Setiyono said currently there are 13 CCTV units available, an increase from last year's 10 units. "We will continue to develop this up to 30 CCTVs," said Pol. Grand Commissioner Sigit Dany Setiyono. In 2021, Asap Digital has detected 19 cases of forest and land fires out of a total of 76 incidents. However, most of the information was obtained from community reports (33 cases). The Jambi Regional Police's Cirectorate of Criminal Investigation Agency explained that the Digital Asap application has contributed in the form of up-to-date information that helps in handling forest and land fires early. Moreover, this application is still in the process of being perfected. "Digital Smoke has played a big role in capturing information on forest and land fires," said the former Mojokerto Resort Police Chief In addition to preventing fires through Digital Smoke, the Jambi Regional Police are also increasing patrols to detect the presence of forest and forest fire smoke early.
