Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that the Free Nutritious Meals Program initiated by President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka can utilize local produce.

Mulyono, the Head of the Plant Food Processing and Marketing Directorate at the Directorate General of Food Crops, said that the ministry aims to boost the production of local food in 2025 to support this initiative.

“We must ensure the sufficiency of local produce, including rice, soybeans, tofu, vegetables, and meat,” Mulyono said on Tuesday (16/7/2024).

The target for 2025 includes 56.05 million tons of rice, 22.59 million tons of corn, 350,000 tons of soybeans, 1.57 million tons of sweet potatoes, 351,000 tons of peanuts, and 166,000 tons of mung beans, according to antaranews.com.

To support this program, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has allocated Rp71 trillion in the 2025 state budget. This funding is intended for the first year of the program, which is a priority for the incoming administration.
