Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia will launch free nationwide mental health screenings starting this February, Minister od Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin announced Sunday (2/2/2025).

“This is one of the government’s largest programs, covering 280 million people. We’re finalizing the launch date, but the goal is February,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The program will be available at 10,000 community health centers, better known locally as Puskesmas, and 15,000 clinics across the country. It aims to tackle rising mental health issues, especially among children and teens.

In 2023, 1 in 10 Indonesians faced mental health challenges, yet most went undiagnosed. A 2022 survey found 1 in 3 teens ( or 15.5 million) had mental health struggles, but only 2.6% sought professional help.
